Frozen Pipes Burst in a Beverly Area Home

Our SERVPRO of Matteson-Homewood Applied Structural Drying Technicians arrived at this Beverly area home to witness a significant water damaging event. Frozen pipes had burst in two different locations between the first and second levels and saturated the walls, ceiling areas, and the hardwood floors. Our team scooped and wiped up the pooling water manually; it was the most effective method of water removal. The plastered walls and lathe required demolition by the stairwell and the adjoining wall. We used air movers and dehumidifiers to remove the lingering moisture before further restoration and replacement of the walls could happen.
